I just finished another WIP! I love this pattern, and it's a fun knit. Don't ask me why it took me so long to finish though.

Well, the calendar says it's spring, but it's sure chilly and rainy here. The paper said we've already passed the average amount of May, and here it is only April 9th! However, it's spring in our house. Thankfully several inside plants are blooming now, three violets and the crown of thorns.
Crown of Thorns
Have a great week!

On a nice day last week we took a long walk through a nearby playground that leads to another neighborhood where we saw lots of cherry blossom "snow"!
From there we continued downhill to the entrance to our favorite canyon walk where we saw another sign of spring: skunk cabbage! In case you've never seen it, it's appropriately named!

You probably won't guess what we saw on our walk around Green Lake the other day! We often see people with their dogs, lots of birds and flowers, but this time we saw a girl with her GOATS! (She said her mom told her that she couldn't have any more dogs, and I wonder whether her mom regrets that, don't you?)

A few days ago on one of our walks, we were lucky enough to see 2 bald eagles. They have the most unusual call, and that made us notice them flying up high. On this photo they are only little black specks and so hard to see.!
We've also seen roaring creeks and even a reminder that there used to be huge trees on our hill before it was logged. Did you notice the axe marks? I can't imagine trying to cut down something that big, can you?
Spring has definitely arrived here. Now if only the sun would show up!

We are so happy to see the first signs of spring in our yard and elsewhere!

Yesterday on our walk in a nearby neighborhood we saw 2 young deer and their mama, but that wasn't as surprising as what we saw at the entrance to the Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park. We were so surprised we didn't even get a photo. It was a GOAT on a leash! The rest of our walk was very interesting because we learned some the coal mining history of our area.
Mama deer had already headed up the hill between 2 houses, and these two were about to follow here.

Recently I got these socks out to wear on a walk and discover a hole it the toe, and I don't think it was a moth. Anyhow, I love this pattern and decided to fix it. Can you tell which toe?
