Happy New Year!

It's chilly and snowy here, and we even have icicles on our roof for the first time in ages.  Sadly we were unable to get down our hill to deliver this shawl to our younger daughter on her 50th b'day! (They have a hill that goes straight up to their house plus a very steep driveway, so even if we got down our hill, it still wouldn't have arrived.)  Soon though hopefully, but more snow is predicted tonight.

This was Casapinka's  Snark-o-meter mystery shawl which I started in August and got put on hold for Christmas knitting.  It was finished just in time but hasn't been delivered thanks to SNOW.

This is the last of 6 gnomes, 3 gray  beards and 3 white.  They were fun to make and then include with the Christmas gifts for relatives and friends.  (Thanks to Val for the pattern and kit!) We kept Mr. Graybeard, and I think he'll live in our garden window, at least for now.

Best wishes to Everyone for a Happy and Healthy New Year!  (And may 2022 be a better year for all of us!)

Happy Holidays!

It's been a while since I posted as I've spent every extra minute working on Christmas projects. You'd think that I'd start earlier, right?
At the moment we are pretty much snowed in!  Even  a relatively small amount of snow makes going down our hill treacherous! So, what are all these projects that have kept me busy?

These cute little guys are from a kit I got long ago from Val! (I still have 2 more to go.)

This little guy took way longer to make than I expected, but it was worth it because Max loves his new pillow!

Then there were the hats. The lower one was made from mohair and wool yarn held together.

Our youngest grand daughter was looking though one of my knitting books and asked for a purple scarf with this stitch pattern (domino). And the yarn was even chosen from my stash!

The next projects were mitts and bracelets. The mitts are another pattern from Val called Glinda. The bracelets which are fun to make are from a couple of kits.

We've also been doing lots of walking which eats up time but is so worth it when we see sights like this one! (We did not walk in the snow yesterday though.)

OK, one last photo and I will sign off.  One evening our cat was having a conniption at the downstairs window that looks out on our backyard.  Here's what she saw! (Do you think Santa missed him?)

Happy 2022! Let's hope that everyone stays healthy and that COVID finally goes away!
