A Finished Project and a Nice Trip!

I just finished these mitts which were super easy except for the crocheted hearts. As you can tell I'm not an expert at crocheting! Strangely, the pattern doesn't include the directions for the hearts. 

We recently got back from several days at Cannon Beach in Oregon where it was super windy.

The walkway to the beach was closed because it contained lots of logs that washed in from the ocean!

Surprisingly, we only saw 2 rabbits thanks to the Rabbit Rescue Project, but we also got to see some elk!

On the way home we discovered a new park in Kent that had great views of Mount Rainier from the parking lot as well as a nice walking trail and playground.

Another Hat and a Pretty View

If you want to practice cables, this is the hat for you!

 This is the view I saw on my walk yesterday. I thought it was interesting that the sky and the mountains were blue. If you look carefully, you can see Seattle in the distance. Not long after I got back home, the sky became totally cloudy, and I was glad I went when I did!

 Have a fun day! These socks are finally finished. Hurrah! How are you going to celebrate?

A Baby Hat and an Interesting Art Project!

Besides the socks our daughter requested, she also asked for a baby hat for a friend's grand child. Since that baby is due in April, I decided to make a toddler size hat since the weather in Chicago will be too warm for a hat to get much use. The pattern I often use for baby hats is actually for a pumpkin hat, but I've found it makes plain hats nicely as well.

 

Earlier this week while running an errand, we discovered this bridge which is actually an art project!

It's an easy walk across it and has a great view of downtown Seattle.

There's also some interesting artwork nearby!
