Finally Back Home!

We returned from Chicago last Friday with lots of nice memories. We attended Montsic's service, the first two days, saw friends and family that we missed last fall when we caught COVID, and we even got to see our oldest grandson who is studying art in Canada. It was a wonderful trip!

The wake and service were held at the Armenian church that is near Northwestern University and is within walking distance to Lake Michigan.

The church was built in the 1800s and is beautiful inside and out!

This is the altar, and you can also see a tiny bit of the casket. The stained glass windows are beautiful also.  The service  was a very nice tribute to our daughter's father-in-law, Montsic, who was born in Iran and came to the USA, where he became a good business man, husband, father, and grandfather.

During the rest of the week besides visiting friends and relatives, we had a fun time taking pictures in Shorewood, Wisconsin, where I lived until we got married almost 60 years ago. More photos soon!

What a lovely place! It's sad that the visit was part of a goodbye but I'm sure it was wonderful to see your family again.

The picture of the stained glass made me think of North Shore Presbyterian church in Shorewood. I’m looking forward to seeing your other pics. We moved to Grafton a couple years ago from Bayside.

I'm glad you were able to join in the memorial service for this man. It's so important to come together for tough times! The church is indeed beautiful!

Our family belonged to that church where my grandfather was the first organist! I was surprised that the former church and Masonic temple where we had Sunday school have all been torn down! Did you go to SHS?
