Busy and Fun Times!

Gosh, these weeks just seem to slip away! And this past one was very busy:  Our older daughter celebrated her birthday in Chicago and sent this photo.  Looks like fun, doesn't it?

We spent a day helping our younger daughter with Max and Stella.

I wound my swap yarn into a cake.  (It fought that idea, but I eventually won.)  Isn't that a cool ruler? Thanks, Kathy, for hosting another fun swap!

Then, since we didn't have to sing this past weekend, we headed to Newport, Oregon,  to stay at Little Creek Cove, one of our favorite places on the beach. As the name implies, it's a sandy cove and a lovely place to relax.

You can see one of the condo units in the distance, but what intrigued me were the ripples in the sand from the wind.  It nice on Friday evening, so we took a quick walk at sunset.

Other folks were out enjoying the early evening low tide, too.

We found this pile of bones and wished they could talk.  What do you suppose it was?

The sun finally set, and we headed back inside, happy that we'd taken time to go outside as it poured off and on for  the rest of the weekend.

On the way back to Seattle, we stopped to visit our nephew and his family in Portland. The twins have changed a lot since we saw them last.  Sadly Sarah is missing because she had a migraine.  It was a great get away, but it does seem like we've been playing catch up ever since we got back.  Oh well, it was worth it, every minute!
