Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe that this is my last post for 2016 and that a brand new year is just hours away.  We took a quick overnight trip to Port Townsend this week and were happy that the weather was a bit better this time.  Rather than driving the whole way, we took the ferry to Bainbridge Island, home of Churchmouse Yarn and Tea, and Mora's, a great place for ice cream, even in December!  As always there was a pretty view of Seattle from the ferry.

Here was the view from our window at the Tides Inn. The Port Townsend ferry was aglow in the distance that evening.

The next morning we spotted a brave boater and lots of ducks as well as a tiny bit of sunshine.

During the past few weeks I've finished up a few projects including another bead stew bracelet,

two more dish cloths (with barely a dent in this huge ball of yarn which has been put away till next year),

a toasty warm scarf from a lovely Berroco yarn called North Star (and loved it so much that another one is underway in charcoal),

and one of 3 pair of mitts which DD#1 requested for the texters in the family.

Pretty soon I'll be able to get back to some very neglected projects but not the Peace Cowl as I only did 8 rows before deciding that I really didn't like the color of the yarn.

Wishing all of you a very Happy and Healthy New Year!

First of all I love the hymn "On Eagles Wings" and that we share a favorite verse. Your projects all turned out beautifully. What a fun little trip you took this week. I've always wanted to go to Port Orchard and take a ferry from Seattle. Maybe this will be the year for that, who knows what 2017 will bring?
Blessings,
Betys

Bead Stew: I love that bracelet AND the name. All of your projects are wonderful.

Glad you had a nice getaway trip and an ice cream cone.

I like the dish clothes, but I love the mitts. In fact as long as you're on a roll knitting 3 pair for you daughter, I'll request a pair for me.

Great that you a mini vacation - what's next?

Happy new year! I love the ferry ride, and seeing it at night like that must have been glorious. I've only been there in the spring - a lovely warm and sunny March day!

Great projects! I love the color of the mitts and the bead stew bracelet is gorgeous. So glad to hear that you had a wonderful time on your trip even though "ferry ride" strikes terror in my heart. I once had a bad ferry experience and there will be no getting back on the horse for me!! They are beautiful though as they send light across the water.

Happy New Year! I'm obsessed with the North Star yarn. I'm on hat #2 with it. Lovely squishy soft stuff. I love the photos and your seasonal header image too. You make the winter seem warm in it's own way.
