Two Finishes Finally!

The prayer shawl is done and has been delivered. She loved it. The color is more blue than in this picture though. I have made this pattern many times.

These mitts were made for a good friend who found the pattern and is a pretty quick project. The yarn had a surprise white streak that was hidden in the middle, so I had to work around it!

On the last sunny day here we went to one of our favorite parks. It's right in the middle of town and appropriately named the Bellevue Downtown Park. It's a great place for a walk with lots to see, including some interesting artwork.

This piece recognizes that the park was created from what used to be the original high school, and on the back it says Union High School. The path leads to an interesting side trail with lots of flowers, bushes, and trees.

The ducks and geese love this park, too. You can barely see the water that circles the whole area. In the winter there's a skating rink there!

This is a photo of the most recent art installation. We were there once when they were working on it, and much of the many pieces were on the ground.

Despite the fact that we've been to this park so many times, this is the first time I'd ever seen this piece! It's right in the very middle of the park and not real obvious.

Hope you've enjoyed this little tour. If you're ever in the area, we'd be happy to take a walk with you there!

My Scary Walk!

I am in the middle of making a prayer shawl for a friend who's just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and don't have any finishes, but I still try to walk everyday.  Yesterday this is what I saw! It's a little early, don't you think? And kinda scary, too!  It is only mid-September, isn't it?

Sister Hats and a Morning Visitor

I just finished two hats for two sisters. I posted photos of the younger sister  a while ago, and their Grandma told me the older sister had almost outgrown the hat I'd made when she was born.  So I decided to remedy that issue. The pattern is the Pumpkin Beanie but not in anything close to pumpkin colors. I was so happy to have enough yarn for two hats!

Look who visited our yard this morning with Mama looking for breakfast! Apparently we run a deer restaurant!

Finally a Finish and a Fun Walk

Here's another dishcloth from the same pattern as the last one. This one shows off the stitch pattern much better, just as solids usually do. Both sides are interesting. Below is the back.

And this is the front. It's a fun knit.

Last Saturday, we took a walk at a nearby lake.
It's well worth the drive, and there's also lots to do. It's about a 3 mile walk, but you can turn around any time. There's a splash pool for kids, boats to rent, swimming when the water's safe, just to name a few. The geese and ducks like it, too! Glad we went then because it's rained every day since then!

Happy Labor Day!
