Frustration, Joy, Sadness, all in a week's time.

This was an odd week, full of mixed emotions. Catherine sent us this beautiful picture taken in Africa last weekend. Now, she's been trying to get home ever since Thursday. Sometimes travel can be very frustrating, especially after the end of a two week work assignment. Hopefully her plane has just landed at Seatac.

David turned FOUR on Tuesday. However did that happen? I can so clearly remember the middle of the night phone call, announcing his arrival, as if it were yesterday. Doesn't that cake look tasty?
Four Years Old!
Just before choir practice on Thursday, I got a phone call from my cousin Lori with the news that her dad, my uncle, had just passed away. In just a few short weeks, death has claimed two members of the older generation in our family, bringing us ever closer to taking on that role. It seemed quite fitting that our anthem today was John Rutter's beautiful arrangement of the Twenty-third Psalm. Lyle was so good to me when I was little, and we'd visit my grandpa's farm. Even though miles have separated us these past years, fond memories remain.

Completely oblivious to the week's happenings, Mocha spends her days eating and sleeping, trying to find the warmest spot in the house. She looks so much better now than when we first brought her in. What an uncomplicated life she leads...now.

Hey Judy! So sorry to hear about the passing of your uncle. I hope your wonderful, warm memories of the time you shared with him will ease your sorrow a little. And if I believed in reincarnation, I think I'd want to come back as my mother's spoilt long haired Chahuahua or your kitty! :0) Bear Hugs! KRIS

Yes, Mocha looks content and worry free!

It does sound like an emotional week for you! I hope Catherine made it home safe.

Condolences for your Uncles's passing.

And Happy 4th birthday to David!

I hope this week will be better.

Dear Judy, I'm sorry for your sad time. I think it's beautiful that you are consoled by your music. You must be very, very good at it. The chocolate cake and that cozy cat are quiet reminders of the lives of the living...we have no choice but to carry on and carry on with gusto. How else could you do justice to your Uncle's memory? In time, I know you will. Gusto is in your blood.

Dear Judy
Your painful loss does much suffering to me.
Like that the life is… and also our time will come, in order to go endlessly.
We enjoy from there each day with consciousness.
Your grandchild my congratulation to the birthday.

Sorry to hear about your uncle. It really does bring your own mortality to light when the older generation is dwindling and the younger generation is growing at an alarming rate! And time seems to go by ever faster. Yes, that cake does look mighty tasty!

I'm so sorry about Lyle. Sometimes I have to force myself to remember that death is part of life, and just a door to the next stage.

I can't believe David is 4! It seems like only yesterday. You realize that means we've been friends about 5 years now?
