Chaos in the Kitchen

Not too much knitting or sewing is going on in these parts. We are updating our kitchen which until a few days ago looked like this:

Gone is that hanging cupboard where everyone has bashed their heads! (One daughter called it the "Shaw initiation.")

Now almost everything else is GONE, and we can't find anything, but progress is happening. Stay tuned!

I've been meaning to post a couple of recent photos from Jill. We are looking forward to seeing them all soon. Here's David all dressed up for something at school. Can you tell he chose his own outfit?

Sophia loves Red Bear which was given to her by our neighbors long ago and is holding up quite well.

Daniel has his own bear. Don't you wish you could sleep this well?

Can't believe it's time to "spring ahead" with the clocks and wish everyone a very Happy Saint Patrick's Day.

Hey, we have the cousin to that cabinet --- we have the Kissinger noggin marker --- we also have the back-digger. If you step back from the fridge you back right into the sharp corner of the cabinet! YIKES! One of these days ....

We're planning a whole house repaint and floor job in the fall. Not looking forward to the upheaval for sure. But, I KNOW I will like having everything fresh and new.

We're going to do house-hunting for six months. If we think we'll move in five years or less we'll just do carpet. If we think we'll stay in for awhile I want bamboo wood flooring and better paint. LOL

Oh, the grands are so sweet. And tell David I LIKE (really) his fashion sense! You will love your new kitchen when it's done. Take this opportunity to eat out often!

Isn't fun to get a new kitchen. When we remodeled we took out out cabinets like that. The counter was a junk collector, because it was hard to do anything under it. We had them taken out and put a couple hanging lights over the island. I love it now, cause we can roll out cookies and breads, no problem
The kiddes are looking great

It will be sooooo nice when you have your new kitchen! Renovating is always a pain, but so worth it when you can enjoy the results. :) Your grandkids are adorable!!!

Kids are darling! Such cuties - and love the "lovies".

We are doing a similar kitchen re-do, but not quite as extensive. Keeping the cabinets, but new countertops and range now. Flooring will be next step, but not all at once for us. You are brave!

Great pictures Judy, thanks for sharing!
I remember all too well the chaos resulting from a kitchen renovation. It's only been a little over a year since we were in the same position. The results though will be worth it all!

Great to see your progress - those were the original Head Bangers, weren't they? Precious chaps! Thanks for sharing. And Happy St. Patty's to ya'!

Love the grandkids pictures, all so sweet. Our old house had the exact same cabinets with the overhang and all, and we moved into a fixer-upper and it had the exact same cabinets. In both houses just months apart we redid the kitchens and took out the overhang. What a huge difference, you won't be sorry you did it. I love kitchen makeovers.

Since no cooking can happen in your kitchen for awhile, I hope you can re-direct the time into crafting. I'm sure it's going to look beautiful, but in the meantime, it probably very inconvenient.

Hello Judy! Hey, thanks for stopping by to visit and for your kind words.

I do feel for you with the kitchen. I remember washing dishes in the bathroom sink, trying to find a working outlet for a crockpot, and the dust - HOLY COW - the dust.

But...in the end you are going to LOVE IT!!!!! Hang in there.

BTW, your 'babies' are sooooo cute.
