An Exciting Weekend and Some Pretty Flowers

Last weekend, the Blue Angels were in town, and we got a glimpse of them on Friday in the parking lot of a nearby shopping center, but on Sunday afternoon we walked up the hill to Somerset, and Dick was able to catch a few pictures of them.

It's much easier to photograph the flowers in our yard though because they stand still!

And so do the ones in vases.

We are expecting company from Minnesota tomorrow. They will leave on Saturday for Port Angeles to take a ferry to Victoria. Then that afternoon we will help Stella celebrate her 10th birthday and, on Sunday I will visit with some former workmates. Looks like a few busy days here! I hope you are enjoying these summer days, too.

You ARE busy! With Dennis being former Air Force, we love all of the air shows by the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds. We were lucky enough to see several when we were in Spokane. Your flowers are gorgeous.
Blessings,
Betsy

We used to live in the Joint Base Andrews flight path and would love to see the Blue Angels fly over when they would come for the annual air show. One of our neighbors was married to one of the pilots so they used to do a special flyover.

No matter how many times see planes,I get a flood of feelings — pride, awe, and excitement.

You comment about how flowers stand still made me laugh! I know this all too well because I've been trying to get pictures of the turkey vultures that fly over our house all the time - with NO success!
