Recently I finished this prayer shawl for the mom/wife of two choir members. She is fighting an aggressive form of brain cancer, and a number of us choir folk have been providing food for the family as they are consumed every day with lots of doctor appointments. It's very sad.
On a happier note, another choir member and his wife welcomed their first child, so I made her some booties. I have several other projects in progress....actually a whole lot!
This beautiful guy paid a surprise visit to our backyard recently! He looked around a bit and chomped a little on the dogwood before strolling on his way somewhere else.
This tiny baby bunny visited us, too. Now if we could only teach it to just eat the grass and skip everything else!
The roses are about done now, but
there still are other flowers to enjoy fortunately.
Oh, I just remembered a couple other finishes.
I surprised a choir friend who's a nurse with this little person
and made a couple of hats, one for a baby boy that's yet to arrive and his big sister.
~~~
Well, that's all for now; it's time for a walk. I hope you are all weathering this strange time in good health! Take care.
Wonderful projects!! That little nurse doll with the mask is just too cute. Araignee
I love all of your projects. I will pray for the lady you made the shawl for. Aggressive brain cancer is awful. Dennis's Dad had it after it spread from his windpipe to his brain.
I love the baby booties and hats too and that nurse is just too cute.
Our weather has been amazing the past few weeks. This is my absolute favorite time of year. I love the sleeping at night in the cool night air.
Take care and enjoy your garden!
Blessings,
Betsy
Lovely shawl! It's so hard to have those we care about suffer with cancer. I used to make tons of those little people for my daughter to play with while in church! I wonder what happened to them....?
I'm glad you are out in beautiful weather, it is hot and humid here. Love your knits and your prayer shawl for that lovely friend. I am sending her healing and loving thoughts. Stay safe.
Good to hear from you and what’s been going on in your world.
Judy, lovely shawl finish. So sorry to hear of the pain and suffering with a friends brain tumor. Such devastating diagnoses.
Love your lil baby booties and hats.
I am surprised too, at how busy we are despite being in isolation and not going to the barn! My garden has never been more colorful, but it has been lots of work. Good work. I lose myself pulling weeds. I look around and think, all this watering watering watering and weeding, and it still looks like we could use more color!
I have a completely dedicated garden this summer on my bedroom porch for the food pantry. I have cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and beans up there. I also have two big squash that volunteered to grow for me near the front of the house. A neighbor gave me 3 tomato plants about a month ago. They are going to be large big boy tomatoes for the pantry too.
All the echinacea has brought so many monarchs to the yard.....and each one says HOLA! from zach in Mexico. Im sure of it.
sending a prayer for the recipient of the shawl. Lovely knitting and finishing, you've been very busy this summer!
Great finishes. It's been too hot and humid here to enjoy the garden much. I get out every evening after dinner to water it, but that's about it.
What a wonderful post. Happy to hear you are doing well. Your garden looks welcoming.
