Finishes! Yay! And a Green Surprise ~

As of today we have a teenage grandson!  How that happened so quickly is a mystery. It seems like just yesterday we got the phone call announcing his arrival.  (And in the interim we have been blessed with  four more grandchildren as well.)

These socks in the colors he requested last summer when we were together were part of his birthday package.  I hope they still fit, as we've heard rumors of how quickly he is growing!

This is the second hat that I've made from this pattern, this time for our son-in-law's birthday. It's a fairly quick knit.

Lately  I've been trying to complete some of my numerous UFOs like this pair of socks. (As you can see sock 2 doesn't quite match up but no one will see that toe in my shoes.  Although it doesn't look like it, they are the same size.  Sock #1 just slithered down the sock blocker while drying.)  I fell in love with this yarn color the minute I saw it!  The pattern is free on Ravelry, and I've used the SKYP stitch on lots of other socks. It's a winner.

This crazy amaryllis was a Christmas gift from our kind neighbor, and I just had to share it.  Have you ever seen an amaryllis with 3 blooms? Who knew what was in that bulb? I guess it's making up for the one I bought last year that had no blossom at all!  Have a wonderful weekend.

Congratulations on being the grandparents of a teen-ager. If he likes handknit socks, he's a keeper!
Good for you for tackling UFOs. I need some inspiration to do the same. I have about a million.

Congratulations on finishing some UFOs: I love all of your finished projects. The self-striping yarn would be fun to knit.

I had one a few years ago with three blooms, mine this year was not happy. Two blooms that had the petals all bruised when they came out. Not sure what happened there. Love your projects.

Our oldest grandchild will be a teenager in April. I agree with the “where does the time go” thought. Beautiful socks and hat. I’m going to start some socks for Dennis today. I keep giving away the ones I mean for him to have. Our kids always claim them first!
Blessings,
Betsy

Happy birthday to Daniel. His socks look great (as do the stripey ones) ---- you've been very productive this week.

Happy knitting ---- and don't forget to show us the amaryllis blossoms when the pop open.

You are a bold woman to knit socks for teenage feet! ha! But that's what makes you such an amazing knitter. The teens love to be cozy and they are beautiful socks he's going to love them!

I love your skyp socks. I've got a pair in hibernation for the spring. I've been distracted in a good way :) Wishing you well.

You have been busy Judy!!! Wow. The socks don't match perfectly and I certainly never mind that. Your amaryllis is to sturdy. Lets see it when it blooms! We need some florals up here in Cold WI!!!
