Busy Needles!

This past week I've made a real effort to put in some stitching time, and it's paid off.  The Amish Alphabet is coming along. (And I'm realizing my eyes aren't what they used to be; either that or 18 count Aida cloth is smaller than ever!)

Sorry that it's crooked, but, I finished the letter B and its birdhouse as well as the extras on A, L, P, U, and X, and am a little more than half way done.  It's about time!

This fun project is on the home stretch.  The yarn is Universal Cotton Batik, the color, "cotton candy".  The pattern, Elise Dress, can be found here along with a photo of the finished dress.   I am on the third ruched section which is a good thing as the recipient's birthday is getting closer every day!

Yesterday's heat (95, which is hot for us) forced this beauty to finally open, and voila! Another thing that could be called "cotton candy;" the odd thing is that the package said it would be white!?  Not too much else to report for now.  Have a great day!

Love your knitting, your stripey yarn is perfect for the pattern. The sampler is so pretty. I haven't stitched in such a long time, and I have several pieces begging to be finished.

What a gorgeous bloom!

My eye was drawn to all the pink in this post - from the pale color in the stitching to the bright color in the dress - all lovely.

I gave up cross-stitch because it was too difficult to see. I miss it.

I love the L for lamb square. My goodness you have been busy. I suggest a new pair of Walgreen's readers for your poor eyes. They fit the bill for my changing script.
I love the baby dress. It is going to be so darling OFF and On the birthday girl

Such pretty projects!! Love the pink dress; it's going to be smashing! The needle work looks oh-so-small, but oh-so-pretty.

95 is hot. It's been that here too and it's miserable.
The alphabet sampler is really cute. You don't have far to go now.

Wow it is hot there. I will not complain about our odd weather! Your post is full of beautiful pink. My eyes are not what they used to be either. Even when I knit at night now, I know it. I can't imagine picking up the cross stitch. I do have an appointment scheduled next month to find out the damage ...

Happy pink stitches to you!

I love your stitched piece. Will you frame it? I'm not much for 18 count or smaller anymore either.

I bought a white orchid once. It bloomed yellow. LOL

Did you notice how the dress and flower match? Very clever. I'd take pink over white any day!
That little dress is adorable. I hope we get to see it on the recipient.
I love the Amish Alphabet, especially that L is for lamb!

Your Elise dress is adorable! The yarn is gorgeous and I love the design. I don't know if I could do cross stitch anymore either. I have to wear magnifying glasses over my regular glasses when I applique! What a fun sampler, though!
