Heartwarmer is off the needles, blocked and has its buttons! I had to start a new ball of yarn for the last two rows but will have plenty left to make a matching hat and then some. Actually, this pattern would also work (without the buttons) for a shawlette for grownups! (like me?)
Here's Clockwork! I reread the pattern which says it's supposed to represent the gears of a clock. We'll see. With the multi-colored yarn and the grey vertical post-like thingies, it's a fun and interesting knit. It's on hold now, though, because I 'm working on my July Camp Loopy project (Stay tuned for a photo of that.) and something else.
Also on my needles is another Prayer Shawl for a woman in our breast cancer support group who's having a really tough time right now. She needs lots of prayers, too.
Now you're probably thinking, doesn't this woman do anything but knit? Well, at long last, this week the sewing room got straightened up a bit, and, wouldn't you know it, a very old stitching project reappeared ( No photos of that though.) Then, yesterday Max and Stella came over with their folks and Uncle Carl for a picnic. Max talked Uncle "Cawul" into reading him a book
and Stella and I shared a special moment, too.
Oops, I nearly forgot. Yesterday morning I found something quite amazing on our front porch, a recently expired, perfectly preserved dragonfly. Many times we've watched them flitting about our garden, but never had we seen one close enough to admire its beauty in such detail.
Aren't those wings wonderful? It was also a great reminder to take time to look around to not miss the splendor of each and every moment.
Hope you all had a nice Fourth also! Enjoy the rest of the weekend, too, and take a minute to check out Patchwork Times.

So beautiful, and I love seeing all the knitting that you do...I wish I could knit all those lovely shawls that you make...maybe one day.
my teacher in high school once told me "you will never know how extra ordinary ordinary things are until you stop and see" - the wings are so beautiful.. and so is your shawl :) so pretty...
Fabulous knitting projects!
It's important to slow down and look at the beauty in our surroundings. While I'm not a fan of dragonflies, the detail on the wings is amazing.
I have found several dragon flies just like that, the wings are amazing and the markings on the body. Love all your knitting.
Hugs to you and glad you had a great weekend,
Meredith
Your dragonfly almost looks like jewelry. There are gold flecks in the wings. So pretty.
I've always been amazed by their wings.
Love the colors in your knitting projects, Judy. The photos of the dragonfly wings are beautiful.
Love the knitting projects! Very nice!! Looks like the "little ones" are getting lots of loving attention. The pictures are so sweet.
The close-up dragon-fly pictures are very interesting. What an amazing winged creature.
So cute with the buttons! You are knitting up a storm! The dragonfly is an amazing creature. I've seen them all sizes, all colors, watched them mating, they are just so interesting! My favorites are a green-blue small one in SD, and a larger cousin of similar color in West Texas, near Uvalde. This is a very nice specimen you found!
I love the shawl buttons Are they functional as well as pretty???
Love the book reading time captured.
So lovely of you to knit for a suffering woman….
so nice that you are knitting for someone in need, may she find comfort!
I am always impressed by your knitting. Beautiful work and especially knitting something for someone who is having a difficult time. Nice way to lift spirits. Prayers for your friend. Hope you and your family are well.
Hello Judy, your knitted shawl is gorgeous. Max sure was enjoying being read too. And Stella is a adorable. I love your new header of day lilies. Hugs Judy
The heartwarmer is adorable, and would be cute for an adult.
The dragonfly is stunning. It's become such a common image that it's easy to forget how amazing the real thing is.
Hi Judy, I finally came over to see your beautiful projects in process! I love the yarns you are using! Also, to take a look at that dragonfly. Wow! So amazing to see it like that! Thank you for sharing!
