Today's paper declared September 2013 the wettest ever, the recent 6.16 inches beating out the 5.95 record set in September 1978. And guess what? It's still raining! Besides that, there was a tornado early yesterday (very rare here) in Pierce County and snow in the mountains! So, what to do, but stitching and knitting? (Of course, I could do some housework. Not!) At the moment, I am stitching on a Block of the Month started in 2009. It's called Verandah View from Willowberry and will eventually be a small quilt. Block one is all stitched.
And I've got a good start on Block two with only eight more, plus the rest of this one, to go!
From our veranda (er, patio) all you can see besides raindrops and soggy plants is our fall blooming clematis, which has finally produced some blossoms and
the strawberry-like fruit of the Korean dogwood. The birds and squirrels usually make short work of them, but I guess they are taking shelter from the rain also.
On the knitting scene, I'm part way up the right front of the cucumber sweater and hoping to finish that soon. It's about time though to head to the UW hospital to knit with the Antepartum patients. Have a nice afternoon! See ya later!

You have certainly had some crazy weather. Nancy (Wyoming Breeze) has already had 5" snow. Are we in for a wicked winter????
Love that first block. Reminds me either of wisteria or weeping willow. So pretty.
August was really wet for us...it rained in our area every day for the whole month...we only had rain about four times in Sept...I hope October has less rain..
I heard the weatherman say this morning that Wyoming would be getting rain by the end of the week, and it sounds like it is coming from WA. I hope you squeeze every drop you can out of those clouds before they head this way. ;oD
The rain and cool sound like fall has set in your neck of the woods, but those beautiful flowers and berries look like spring! So beautiful, as is your needlework, Judy. You are a multitalented lady. blessings ~ tanna
I love the bird and birdbath so sweet!! We are dry and below rainfall here, supposedly it's going to rain in a few days, I'll believe it when it happens!!
awww antepartum knitting is so nice of you!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing all your stitch projects. I admire all those knots and interesting ways with a needle!
Hi Judy! You know I'm loving the rain! Although, I've had to work the last couple of days so didn't get too much stitching or crocheting done. :-) So that's what that tree is...a Korean dogwood...we have one of those in the side yard...I was just looking at the berries today. Yours looks to be healthier than ours. Lovely embroidery pieces!
The creek on our property was really rushing along from all the rain. I thought maybe we should start building an ark.
I thought I'd check to see if blogger would let me comment today. I do read your blog! I wish you had subscribe by e-mail on the sidebar. I'd do that.
