Three Finishes Plus!

Whew, it's been a couple of busy weeks that involved some unexpected excitement, including getting used to our new car. It's been fun and a little crazy.  Dick had been doing research for quite a while "just in case," so we now have a new Toyoto Camry and just in time for our 50th Anniversary!  It's silver, not gold, but that's just fine.

We also spent a day helping a friend who just had rotor cuff surgery on her right shoulder, and I was able to get some knitting projects finished in time for several August birthdays.

This is en route to the Midwest for the GD that is turning 8.  How she got to be that old so quickly is a mystery!

The pattern for this gave me fits, but it's done and ready to wrap up for the Little Miss who turns 2 tomorrow! She loves dogs, and I just couldn't resist the button.

The next time I make this bag, I will use bigger needles, but it is supposed to stretch, and hopefully it will. (It's for a friend.)

August is a month full of celebrations in our family, with birthdays, anniversaries happening weekly! Nope, it's never boring in August (or any other month either)!  Hope your week is going well. Check Patchwork Times for some knitting inspiration!

Happy anniversary! Your new ride is very chic. Perfect for cruising through the golden years.
The little lady clothes are precious. You are one fantastic grandma!

I'm sure you will love the Camry. My current car is a Camry (2004) and has low mileage so I'll keep it for many more years. My first Camry served me well and had over 200,000 miles on the odometer when I traded it. Both cars only require(d) regular maintenance.

I think you'll LOVE your Camry. I, too, have been driving a Camry for many years (I'm on my 3rd one!)

Your knitted pieces for the girls are absolutely adorable! They are going to be thrilled.

You certainly have been knitting up a storm this summer. I love the little top for your granddaughter.

Time for another road trip so you can really get the feel of the new car.

You know the Camry will last ten years, at least. =) Or a couple hundred thousand miles, whichever comes first.

Another family with lots of August birthdays, huh?! Judy. You are a knitting marvel. I love that little ribbed dress especially!! She better never grow out of it. Oh wait. I suppose we don't want to actually wish that. :-)

Your finished knits are adorable! The pink ruffles on the little dress are just too cute. We have a Camry, too, and love it. And 50th anniversary? That is AWESOME!!! Congrats!

So, you got a Camry. Excellent choice! I love Toyotas. I think the Camry is similar in size to the Accord, which is what I got from my Dad. Too big. We are going to look at trading it in for a Corolla. I really struggle to park the Accord!

Such cute knits. I'm so glad one of my friends has a grand-daughter for me to knit for, as my kids are nowhere near producing their own offspring.

Enjoy all your August events. Most of our birthdays are in late November or December. Not the best timing! We had half-birthdays for my kids when they were little, as both were born in December.

I have been catching up with your blog. That Walleye Pike looks so good, I can just taste it. Brings back my days in Minnesota. All your projects are of course wonderful. Such precious little dresses. Your trip sounded like fun.You lucked out on the car. Mt. Rainier still has a little snow but not as much as usual sadly. This weather is a little scary. My trees are suffering too.

Your needles have been busy! Love the little doggie on the dress. And, I think you'll find that your bag stretches quite a bit. A friend has made several of those and you can stuff a LOT in them.

Have a great weekend! :-)
