Introducing Mocha!

On Halloween we made a big decision: we rescued a kitty that we'd seen around our house all summer and who'd been a more or less permanent resident of our backyard since we got back from Chicago. Since the temperature was dropping and the rain moved in, and I discovered that she'd been declawed and was therefore defenseless against the raccoons, we took her in. The vet discovered that she has an unregistered microchip, so we now have a second kitty that's terribly thin but happy to be dry and warm. Ginger, however, isn't sure about this interloper, but hasn't hissed at all today. We're still keeping them separate but hopefully soon they'll get along!

After the rains quit this afternoon, we went for a walk and finally remembered to take the camera. The specific tree we'd hoped to capture didn't have a single leaf left, but this one more than made up for that. I don't remember a fall as beautiful as this one!

Hey Judy! Awwwwww! You big softie, you! I think Mocha should be very happy to have found such a loving new home! And that tree is spectacular! Such a gorgeous deep colour. Being at the other end of the earth ... our coloured trees at the moment are the gorgeous jacarandas, or 'purple trees' as my God-daughter called them when she was 3! They are magical clouds of purple at the moment - the rainbow spreads out over everyday life, if only we remember to look for it! Have a fabulous week! Bear Hugs! KRIS

Oh Judy you are tempting me! After we lost Pebble a few weeks ago we said 'no more cats!'
Now I look at Mocha and I am weakening - I would love to stroke her.

Judy, Mocha is precious. I don't think I answered your question about the kids book. I don't recall that name, but I will check out the library. I am curious now. :)

Hey Judy,
Thanks so much for the sweet encouragement.
I really love your new kitten. Mocha is such a sweet name and she certainly is pretty. Fall is giving us some pretty colors too, but man, what a tree that is. I love the train also.
It seems like I haven't been on in forever. The election and Halloween has had me tied up too, plus with having no energy. I don't know why but I have never been able to take naps in the day. I am really working on getting more sleep at night (drinking tea and what not). Hopefully things will get much better soon.
Thanks again,
Big Hugs to you and your sweet grandchildren,
Wendy

What a little sweetie... sure feels good to take on an animal that truly needs a good home.. I'm sure she's already getting spoiled. Love the red maple!
