Another CQ Attempt

I finally "bit the bullet" and agreed to try a Crazy Quilt swap at CQforNewbies. The only real requirement for the "Nuttin' But Newbies" swap was that the block include something with a birdhouse, and thanks to Kathy, I had the perfect charm and a wonderful piece of lace. I also had a block that I'd pieced a while back for practice and was the correct size, so how could I refuse? Here is what my unembellished block looked like. Hopefully it's OK!
Unembellished Block
I learned a lot on this block: that the "flower" yarn would pull through fabric easily, how to make a bee thanks to Bullions from A to Z, how to make Kathy's cool SRE daisies, and how to attach things using beads. It was a fun project and is now on its way to Lesa as my first CQ swap block. Perhaps if you double click, you can see the details better.

Hey Judy! WOW! Look at all that lovely embroidery - fantastic job! I have nine crazy patch blocks in a cupboard that all have a little embroidery and are patiently waiting to be finished to make a quilt, but somehow other projects keep interfering - one day!!! Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

Wow, look at you go! I am hugely impressed. I did my first CQ a couple of years ago--turns out it's not my thing. Is this some direction you might want to go?

Hi again - Annie is doing good - she has gained an appetite rather than lost it as predicted. She still has little interest in playing, which is good for now, but I hope she doesn't forget how...

I wish I had MORE PLUMS to make another batch with!!

OH, it is a fantastic block. I've had one block started & lost interest : (
It was more difficult to get the needle & fiber thru the layers than I originally thought! Maybe I just need a larger sharp needle. Your block is just wonderful : )
