Another Finish and a Couple Other Photos

These mitts are done! It's the second pair I've made with this pattern, and they knit up quickly.

I meant to post this photo earlier and hope it doesn't make you sore just looking at it! Our grand daughter and her friend were practicing on the balance beam that Dick made for her. Just last week her team won first place!

And this photo makes me sad! Practically every time I've walked lately, I've picked up lots of trash. I guess people just toss it out of their cars when they drive down our local streets. Between the trash on the streets and the fact that folks are no longer following the speed limits here, it makes walking not very fun anymore.  I hope where you all live, it's much better!!

Ouch! Look at those girls! lol The mitts look so warm! We have to pick up our roadside yard every day because of the litter tossed from their cars--shameful!

Beautiful wristwarmers. And were we ever that flexible? It DOES hurt to look at that photo, but good for them. Sorry about the litter. People just don't seem to have much pride in their surroundings anymore. Dennis and I were just talking about that this afternoon. Very sad.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

Kudos to the girls on the first place finish! My body has never been that flexible. Please keep a watchful eye on traffic when you’re walking.

Ouch! I tried to learn the splits when I was a kid many times but I just don't bend that way.
We have city folks who just walk around with buckets and those picker things all day long here at the beach because if they don't the place would be filled with trash. We have big trash cans every few feet but they still toss stuff all over the place. The marina is the worst. No one picks it up down there and it's a mess.

Great mitts, cute girls, and unfortunately, the roads are no better here. Most of the roads here have a speed limit of 90km/h. Most people do 100-110 (major highway speeds), but there are quite a few people doing 120-130 which just blows my mind. We definitely need more enforcement out here. And don't get me started on people who throw garbage out their window

I always wonder why they don’t have more trash cans on the river trail. It isn’t too bad now but in the summer there is so much liter. Good on you for picking it up.

The mitts look great, but oh to be that young and flexible. Actually I don't think when I was young, I was that flexible. I've not noticed lots of trash when I walk, and hope it stays that way. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Nice finishes and yes, sadly, there's a fair amount of trash around our neighbourhood as well. We have a state-wide Green Up day, so usually our family goes around and picks up as much trash as we can. The state provides the bags and you put them at a major intersection and they come pick them up as well.
