Happily, I just finished a WIP, the first pair of socks for this year. This yarn makes me think of chocolate sundaes. They don't quite match, but who cares?
When I sit at our computer, I can see this out of the window. I guess it's either the last rose of summer, or maybe the first rose of spring. This morning I saw a humming bird checking it out. It always surprises me to see hummers when it's this chilly!
We've been trying to take our daily walks despite the weather and had a new experience the other day as it started to hail as we were headed home. Luckily the hailstones were small and it was actually kind of fun and not as wet as walking in the rain. On one of our recent walks we were greeted by these plants. I am always happy to see them because it reminds me that spring is coming eventually!

Can anyone tell me why the middle print turned pink. I checked in the preview, and it was black? One of the mysteries of Blogger, I guess.
Congrats on the sock finish!!! I love that colorway.
The Mister and I got caught in a summer hail storm one time when we were on a bike ride. It was crazy. We hid in the doorway of a school and it piled up around us like snow. We were black and blue from getting pelted. I can tell you that was one long ride home.
I can't believe you still have roses. I was just commenting to The Mister that they are finally all gone from the park we go to sometimes. They were there at Christmas but now they are none left. Araignee
The socks are lovely and do remind me of ice cream! No idea about the print turning pink. Blogger is a mystery as to why it does what it does. :-) I wonder if it's an old or new rose too. It's very fresh looking for an old one! We had about 3 inches of snow this morning but it's supposed to be in the upper 30's and maybe even hit 40 later this week so hopefully it will melt soon. I'm so ready for spring but I know it's a way off yet. I want my vaccine so life can begin again someday. Our mass vaccination site was overwhelmed today, phone, computer and in person. Everything crashed! It was the first day so I guess that was to be expected.
Take care.
Blessings,
Betsy
How odd that the text turned pink! I saw a rose on a recent walk too. And more socks. I really need to get back to my socks and figure out the next step.
What a pretty pic of the rose! We get some hummers that stay around, too. Brave guys! Okay, I give up on the orange fringe!
It would be a shock to see roses blooming or hummingbirds in my area this time of year! I’m glad you have both.
Awesome socks
I won't see roses until June!!! That's amazing.
I can never remember what those squiggly things are (we dont have them here) but they are so neat
Neopoliton! Love that ice cream
Love that you are posting again pretty often!
WE are months from anything green here Judy.
Im sure Jill's told you about our snow. Once the drive is clear its pretty.
I think you're a fast knitter too! Love the socks :)
I'm not sure walking in hail sounds very fun! Love the rose. Stay safe and warm.
I have no idea what the plants at the bottom are. =) Kudos to you for walking. I'm going to wait until it's consistently above 45 before I start back - and I need to. I've lost my stamina! The socks look great to me - it's obviously the same yarn, so what if it didn't pool or stripe, or whatever it's called, like it's supposed to.
