Spring Has Sprung!

You may be wondering where I've been.  Well, the sun has been shining pretty consistently, so we've been outside in the garden, trying to clean up.  I have a number of projects in the works, but they are all going slowly.

This pretty azalea was a Mother's Day gift a few years ago from our son.  Every year since it has outdone itself with blossoms.  What you can't see in this photo is that it's a small tree!  You can, however, see the leaves that are everywhere, waiting to be raked.

Finally our dogwood decided to bloom!  When we brought it home, maybe four or five years ago, it was covered with flowers, and then nothing until last year when it graced us with ONE bloom.  What did we do differently?  Nothing!?  Maybe it took a while to feel at home?

Each year our trillium has a few more blossoms.  I love flowers! Are you surprised?

And here's someone else I love.  Stella's showing off her first haircut and modelling a sweater I made ages ago that finally fits!  Carpe Diem!

Stella looks adorable in her sweater. Purple is a good color for her.

Your flowers are lovely too. Love those trillium.

Hi Judy,

Love Stella's new hair do and her pretty sweater. And look at those colourful
beads strung around her neck! Are those flowers in her hair?

Well, we had a taste of spring a week ago but now we're back to colder temperatures
which is very discouraging. I even heard from a friend today that there was a few brief
flurries as well. We missed seeing those. I'm not upset about that.

But there are signs of spring moving forward in spite of the temperatures. The grass
is greened up nicely and growing, some bushes have a haze of green covering them
and a few of the hardier spring flowers are blooming. But it'll be awhile before our
dogwood has leaves, never mind flowers. Sigh!

I love those trilliums!!! Aren't they gorgeous!!! The trillium is our provinces official
flower but we don't see them too often anywhere. What a sight!

Cheers!

First haircuts and handmade sweaters! Very sweet! I love that azalea was a Mother's day present. It makes the bloom that much more special what a wonderful and thoughtful gift. You're very lucky.

Stella is so cute in her new hairdo and cardi. It's hard to stay inside when there are so many pretty spring flowers to enjoy outside. Lovely photos.

Loving seeing all these different flowers rather than our tropical leaves. Stella is too cute.
