A Couple of Finishes!

Last summer this little lady started learning how to embroider with the help of Hoop-a-Loops, and when we were visiting last fall, she finished her second piece of stitching which I brought home to make into a pillow. And finish it  I did finally this past week with the help of some perfect fabric that I found at one of the quilt show boutiques and a great button and some dark green piping courtesy of JoAnn's.

Said pillow is winging its way to the Midwest.  I hope she likes it.

The fabric! (The bow below is the correct color.)

Can you see the turtle button?  This project was more difficult than the first one, and I think she did a great job, don't you?

Meanwhile, I finished another hat which should fit the intended recipient much better than the last one!  Hope you all had a great holiday weekend.  The countdown to Christmas begins tomorrow, so I need to get back to work. Ciao!

Sophia did a beautiful job on her stitching. Her stitches are so nice and even.

Love your little hat. The stranding color is so pretty against the cream.

Happy December! Can you believe we are in December already????

Sophia shows some real talent there. I agree with Dee that her stitches are amazingly even.
You already knit a whole hat? That, too, is amazing.

Very well done! I think I'll look for these for my GD's 8th birthday next spring. Hope your holidays are happy, happy, happy!

Hi Judy,

Love the intent expression on Sophia's face as she stitches.
I must say that her stitches on the finished project are very
neat and pretty. I guess that the apple doesn't fall far from
the tree, wouldn't you?

You did a nice sympathetic finish for the design. I think
she'll adore the fabric and that button is a perfect touch.

The new hat looks great too. Warm and stylish.

Cheers!

Sophia has succeeded where I have not! I did pick up a hand stitched darling Santa in a golf outfit shirt today at a resale shop. I'll take a photo of it. I admire handstitching!

Did you send photos of her stitching to the lady who makes the Hoops? I know she would be thrilled to see them!
