Last weekend DD#2 sent us this photo of their house and yard with the news that school had been cancelled once again due to cold temperatures.
On very the same day, while I was at my quilt group, DH took a photo of our yard because we had a surprise visitor. (Look at all that moss!)
He, or maybe she stuck, around for quite a while before strolling off into the alley behind our house.
Before leaving though, a demonstration in agility was performed. Wouldn't it be nice to be this limber?
Even our indoor plants seem to think it's spring. Our Canary Island pine just rewarded us with a new set of leaves. As you can see, it's quite tall and may need to be moved in the near future. All this greenery means it's time to think of yard work. In February? That is unheard of, but I did prune and fertilize the roses this weekend and deadheaded the hydrangeas which are budding out. And now besides feeling guilty about our good weather while everyone from the Midwest to the East Coast is freezing, I am worried that we may get a killing freeze. We have had snow in March before............ I sure hope not!

The weather here has been crazy too. Right after you left we had two nights that were below freezing. On Friday the high was 55. On Sunday the high was 84!
Steve spent all of Sunday making the yard all tidy.
Too early to think about Spring, but it's coming in a couple of months. At least I hope it does. . .
Sunday was beautiful but we are back in the deep freeze tonight. I like cold but these temps are ridiculous.
I was out in short sleeves all Saturday... by Sunday it was COLD pouring rain... yesterday, sleet and ice... Oh, my. Though we have NOTHING to whine about compared to the northeast. Bless them.
I loved seeing your promises of spring. Hope you do not get a killing freeze!

Oh I love your PINE! I want several for my porch. I don't think the cats would bother them. Happy Early spring to you . You deserve it. SOMEONE does!
Brrrr we are under fierce winds today ....
great photos of the deer! We are still in the midst of winter but I can feel a change in the air. Spring is around the bend.
Yes, you should feel guilty, lol! We've got 3 feet on the ground in bitter cold. Boston has 6 feet! So enjoyed your photos though, spring IS on the way!
I know, we are suffering from a drought here in Cali. The Bay Area has been exceptionally dry. But what can you do, shrug?
That first photo of the deer is so cute, it looks stage. Lush green and nice.
No need to feel guilty, just because I'm stuck in the snow and ice and just was able to get out of my neighborhood for the first time in two weeks. LOL And because more snow is headed in tonight. If I could be somewhere else, I would be, too! Before all this, my tulips were half up. I suspect no tulips this year.
Crazy weather this year! Utah has had such a mild winter.
Great pics of your visitor deer : )
I love seeing the pictures of the deer; they are beautiful animals. Oh yes, and agile!
It looks so green, lush, and spring-like in your area!! Oh my!! Enjoy it.
Amazing how contrasting the weather can be in the same country. What beautiful visitor you had. I have been out attacking my jungle and trying to tame it back into a garden. We have had lots of rain and when it's raining it's been too hot.
