Finally, just yesterday, the thermometer hit seventy. Today it's 54. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted, and we did have four glorious days of sunshine....in a row, no less! Dick caught a couple of Steller's jays in our backyard while trying to capture the "snow" from the cherry tree.
It was nice when our friends the Schmidts were in town enroute to Alaska. They even got to see Mount Rainier, and I am sure have totally the wrong idea about our weather. But, I'm glad they got to see our city at its finest. Before the weather turned good, I finished this washcloth from one of the patterns I got on Mother's
Day at Churchmouse Yarns and Teas. I love this pattern so much that I'm going to try it for a small blanket. We'll see how long that takes!

What are those birds? They are huge? Was it hailing or just raining? It sounded like hail.
Hi Judy! That washcloth is too pretty to use. :-)
Love the video of the blue jays, and glad you got some nice weather. Save a little rain for me in June...we're weird, but we like to see a bit of rain while we're there. Happy Weekend!
Cute video! It's interesting that you get the stellar jays and we do not. We're not all that far from you. I wonder if it's due to higher elevation? I know you see them up in the mountains a lot.
That has such a lovely edge on it...
Aren't hand knitted washcloths so decadent....... I enjoy using mine so much...... HMMM I really should make more.......
I've never seen a stellar jay before....we just have regular old blue jays here in Mass. Is that grandmother's favorite dishcloth or something different?
Love the jays...I was out in the yard bird watching this morning too! We don't have jays like yours...they live up the hill...we have scrub jays...they nest in my yard...we feed them peanuts. We are cooler here right now...in the low 60's, but it is supposed to be in the high 70's next week.
Those jays are gorgeous! Isn't it wonderful to see springtime again. We had very hard rains today, but boy does it make the asparagus grow! :-)
Cute cloth. I'm not good enough at knitting to want to make something and put it in dishwater. :-)
Those Stellar Jays are beautiful....the blue is so pretty. We don't get anything like that here. Beautiful dishcloth...love the edging.
I guess I was the only one who thought your blog post title was announcing your birthday???
Love those steller jays!!@
Beautiful shots of the Stellars! We don't get those jays around here so it was great to see your video. Do they make as much noise as our jays?
Great video clip Judy...such a pretty blue!
I love the edging around your cloth too.
