Some Night Time Fun!

Last night the skies were clear, the moon was out, and we watched the Space Station fly over our house at about 5:45 PM thanks to a notification from NASA. You can get these emails, too, by signing up at Spot The Station | NASA

NASA (.gov)
https://spotthestation.nasa.gov

You will only get the notifications when the ISS is visible where you live. It's fun to watch it move across the sky and imagine what the astronauts are doing and what they can see. Try it, it's fun!

Happy Thanksgiving!

 Yep it's another hat, this time for an upcoming birthday. This yarn is new to me, but oh so soft and easy to work with. It's Lionbrand Scarfie Lite and comes in several pretty colors. This color is called Rain and perfect for Seattle! The pattern is one of my favorite "go-tos" for hats. It doesn't seem to be available on Ravelry anymore though.  Oops, the dryer is calling, so I need to run.

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving Day! Tomorrow I need to go on a long walk to use up a few of those delicious calories!

Delivered! And a Surprise ~

I figured my friend might be tired of greyish hats, so I made this one for her.

Our crazy mixed up Christmas cactus doesn't know it's almost Thanksgiving. It was tiny when we moved it here from San Diego in 1977.  There are two other of its "children" in our garden window that aren't confused though.😉I wonder when and if they plan to bloom!

One More Hat!

 Last night I finished another hat, my third one this month!  The stitch pattern is very nice and not too difficult, so I know I'll be doing THIS HAT again soon. The yarn is a favorite of mine; it's Malabrigo Rios, and the hat pattern is DK Treadhead Hat.

OK, that's it for now; it's time to get ready for the trick-or-treaters!

Another Hat! And Some Flowers

Here's the latest hat I've made for my friend who is having her second chemo today. I hope it will cheer her up. I used the same pattern as the last one only a bit smaller and added a topknot. (It seems that the pattern is no longer available though sadly.)

It's been gloomy and rainy here this week so far, and the indoor plants have cheered us up by blooming! I love my plants, both outside and in!

~~~ Have a nice day!~~~
We Are Back Home! And a Few Finishes
 If you have been wondering where I've been, it's because we were out of town. First we went to Palo Alto, CA, to see my husband's brother and wife and then headed south to see more family and friends. When we were in San Diego, we visited our old neighborhood and were delighted to discover that our neighbors on both sides were still there! (We left for Seattle in 1977.)
Our first house
When we knocked on the door of this house, it was opened by Betty, our oldest daughter's friend who is now grown up and was visiting her mom. What a nice surprise that was!
Another great surprise was seeing the orange tree Dick planted back in the day.  It was still tiny when we moved, but now it has lots of oranges!
We spent a couple of days in Anaheim, too, and had a surprise there as well. We got to see the Disneyland fireworks from our hotel window!
And I've finished a few projects this month.  I made this hat for my friend who's having chemotherapy.
I finally finished two pairs of mitts that I started long ago. I want to make the first pair again in a solid color so the design will show better.  And the bottom pair was given to another friend who just got home from the hospital after 7 weeks! (This is just a pair of mitts that I added a cable to.)
Hope you are having a nice weekend. We are happy to be back home again!
Another Finish!
These socks were a fun knit, and I know that I will make this pattern again. Try it, you'll like it!
You know it's fall when you see mushrooms and fall blooming crocus.
But does anyone know what this plant is?
Do think she likes her newest hat?
Happy Sunday!
